At the Manyatta-like bar, guests can sample classic and contemporary cocktails whipped up by our in-house mixologist or treat themselves to local and imported beers, fine malts, distilled vodkas, diverse soft drinks or freshly blended juices. Catch your favorite games at the bar screen or you can relax on the couch and enjoy it on our projected screen.
The term koroga is Kiswahili and means to stir. Koroga is a great cookery tradition introduced to Kenya by the Indian community. At a koroga, the men traditionally do the cooking. It's rather refreshing to see a group of men getting together and carefully preparing a delicious meal for their friends and family. The aim of a koroga session is to spend with good company telling jokes, swapping politics and enjoying a drink and the outdoors.
When doing a koroga at the restaurant, guests telephone the restaurant in advance (best to call the day before) to book the space and order the raw ingredients. People choose between chicken, mutton or fish, as well as a list of spices that they would like to use. From there, you can leave all the ingredients and equipment set up to us!
Osoita Lodge has spacious self-catering bandas built specifically for Koroga purposes, which can accommodate 50 guests at a time.
